It seems crazy that the airline industry has implemented myriad technological advances such as arc fault breakers and automated controls to make airplanes safer and more modern but fliers are still subjected to the one obnoxious thing that should have the easiest solution: GROUND DELAYS!

If you’ve ever spent hours stuck in an airplane on the tarmac, you know how frustrating and annoying it can be (especially all you business travelers).  Well, for all you airline passengers who can empathize, your long delays on the tarmac may soon be coming to an end.  The Senate is slated to vote on legislation today that would require airlines to allow fliers to deplane if their flights get stuck in long ground delays.

Obviously, the airlines are none-too-happy about the legislation and contend that it would result in “unintended consequences” including increased cancellations and delays, more customer inconvenience, and significantly increased costs for the airlines.
