Although I use a computer everyday and I know the basics, if something goes wrong or my computer is slow, I am completely clueless about what to do. Personally, I hate paying over $100 for the Geek Squad to install something simple in my computer or fix something I could do myself, if I only knew how. After reading Troubleshooting Your PC for Dummies, I now know how to fix my computer problems! It explained simply how to fix my computer, without too much technical language.
I also picked up Simple Computer Transfer and Backup, but I find it’e easiest just to use remote backup on the internet or elsewhere.

Since I am nearing retirement, I have been thinking of becoming a truck driver and traveling the country with my spouse. I wanted to learn more about the industry before I applied for any truck driving jobs or paid for my CDL, so I picked up the book Bumper to Bumper: The Complete Guide to Tractor-Trailer Operations by Mike Byrnes and Associates.
It covered almost every aspect of the driving industry. After reading it, I decided to become a trucker. When I was in CDL training, I was the most knowledgeable person in the class. This book definitely gave me the ground knowledge to get started in the industry. I would recommend it for anyone that wants to work in the trucking industry or for anyone that even associates with truckers from time to time.

I love pets, but until recently, I haven’t been able to have a pet in an apartment. With the acquisition of my new condo, I was so happy that now I could get a mini dog. Although initially I wanted a miniature schnauzer, I decided to find out what other kind of small dogs are available that would fit into my small apartment.
I read the book Small Dog Breeds, which gave me an idea of all the pros and cons of each breed. It helped me find a small dog whose personality would match my lifestyle.
After I picked my little Yorkshire Terrier, I immediately looked for a way to train him, and found all my answers in the very informative book, Small Dogs, Big Hearts: A Guide to Caring for Your Little Dog. Now that I have my puppy trained, I do spoil him a little with gourmet dog treats and even spoiled myself with a designer dog purse.

If you are a ski bum like me, you have to subscribe to Powder magazine, by far the industry’s best publication. With its glossy photographs, interesting facts, and articulate, often witty writing, Powder has sustained my need for the white stuff through all seasons.
Reading old issues has gotten me incredibly pumped for my upcoming Utah outdoor adventure this Christmas – if you are as passionate as I am, you know that Utah has some of the best powder and skiing conditions in the country, if not world.
Enjoy the always hilarious letters to the editor and Average Joe’s “unique” artwork. Powder does a superb job of paying tribute to the great sport of skiing rather than the lifestyle and behavior associated with ski towns such as Aspen and Tahoe.

I have been buying items on eBay for a while, but decided to try my hand at selling items only a short time ago. Since I was slightly clueless about how to make the best profits on auctions, I found a great book to educate me and start making money. I skimmed through several books, but my favorite was Three Weeks to eBay Profits: Go from Beginner to Successful Seller in Less than a Month.
It was the perfect book to get my auctions up and running quickly. Some of the other books I read were very generalized, but this book went deep into the details of eBay. It provided tips on equipment and tools, power moves, and even trade secrets that experienced, full-time eBay sellers use. It was easy to understand and walked through each step, which is perfect if you are an eBay beginner like me!
I particularly liked that it addressed several ways to find and sell products, such as through drop shipping companies. If you want to use drop shipping, I would recommend this Doba review and reading the previous post on drop shipping.

Halloween is rapidly approaching and I am excitedly finalizing all the plans. My husband and I will visit nearly every Colorado haunted house we possibly can, watch our top scary movies, and most importantly, host our annual Halloween bash. Martha Stewart, domestic queen and homemaker extraordinaire, has the best Halloween guide I have ever come across. Her ideas are elegantly spooky laced with opulent eeriness and really capture the essence and spirit of the Halloween holiday.
