I truly wish I had a green thumb; I would love to have a blossoming garden full or gorgeous blooms and fresh, succulent vegetables. But I don’t. Everything I try to grow usually does not last very long.
So this past spring and summer, the Gardening for Dummies book has been my best. I wouldn’t say I have the best garden in the neighborhood, but it’s my little sanctuary that I am quite proud of; the pumpkins are growing, my tomato plants survived, and my petunias are thriving! I would recommend this to anyone that is as gardening challenged as myself.
On a side note, I discovered a great invention for the garden: a bug hat to keep all those pesky pests from buzzing and biting. Pick one up when you get your gardening dummy book!

“Implementing Electronic Document and Record Management Systems” by Azad Adam is a great read (well, for anyone interested) about electronic document recording. It focuses on the evolving global shift from paper files and storage to more current electronic methods. I actually had to get the book for a class and was quite surprised to find it rather interesting. It is amazing to realize how paper-bound our society is and the technologies such as the internet that are changing it.

I adore Julie Oswin’s “Contemporary Wedding Photography.” I picked it up on whim at Barnes & Noble to get ideas for my own wedding. The photographs are stunning and beautiful, contemporary yet timeless. With a visual sample, I was able to show my Utah wedding photographer exactly they type of shots I wanted. It makes a great coffee table book too!

When I met my husband about five years ago, he introduced me to Utah mountain biking. He patiently taught me how to bike and do jumps, and soon I was biking a 100 mile loop with him.
In our free time we like to practice jumps and travel around looking for new places to bike. We have picked up trail tips from friends and numerous books. We really like Mountain Biking Moab for its guide to off the road paths. It provides more trails than just Slickrock Bike Trail, plus it has very detailed maps and information on uncommon trails.
We also like picking up trails and gear from a Utah guide website. It provides articles and information about biking throughout the state, as well as other recreation activities. It even provides a guide to lodging, gear, and restaurants along the way.
